The annual Regulatory Summit produced by the American Home Furnishings Alliance has been replaced for 2020 by a series of free webinars on regulatory topics.
“Ongoing health concerns around large gatherings have resulted in a head-spinning series of event postponements, reschedulings and cancellations throughout our industry,” explained AHFA Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Bill Perdue. “One recent change was the extension of the October High Point Market dates, which placed the opening of the fall event within a few days of our originally scheduled Summit.”
Rather than ask executives to make back-to-back trips to High Point, AHFA shifted its focus to a series of webinars addressing the anticipated Summit topics. Swift conversations with scheduled speakers resulted in a comprehensive program covering all of the essential topics but spread out over several months.
“AHFA’s Regulatory Summit provides AHFA members with a unique opportunity to voice their questions and concerns on key compliance issues. We wanted to preserve that essential benefit, so each webinar will have 20 to 30 minutes of time allotted for questions and answers,” Perdue said.
“We will connect attendees with the experts on each topic, whether it is California’s Proposition 65, the EPA’s formaldehyde risk assessment or navigating a product safety recall,” he continued. “These webinars will provide updates and critical insights on the issues that matter most to our industry.”
There are two webinars scheduled each month in July, August, September and October, plus one in November and one in December, for a total of 10 in the series. Members can register for the webinars one month at a time, or for all five months in the series. A detailed agenda and registration links are HERE.
