Marketing/PR

International trade, social media marketing and growing e-commerce distribution channels are just a few of the issues facing today’s furniture marketing executives.

AHFA’s broad-based public relations program is designed to heighten consumers’ awareness of home furnishings and deliver informed, enthusiastic buyers to the doors of retail stores. The program’s ultimate goal is to increase the industry’s share of the consumer’s disposable income.

Key components of the program include:

1

Distribution of press materials on products and trends to print, broadcast and digital media outlets nationwide. These materials feature products from AHFA member companies.

2

A media page on the AHFA website where writers and editors can find current press releases on products and trends, as well as industry news and statistics.

3

New product summaries released prior to each major home furnishings market, including High Point, Las Vegas and the Casual Market in Chicago.

4

A media help desk that answers inquiries from news and feature writers who turn to AHFA for reliable information on a wide variety of business, product safety and style trend topics.

In addition, the public relations program works to communicate the proactive stance of AHFA member companies on regulatory and legislative issues that impact our industry. It does this through the timely distribution of press releases and position statements providing members of the media, government officials and other stakeholders important updates on AHFA’s advocacy efforts.
